I devoted much of my adult life to Game Informer. I poured my heart and soul into Game Informer.

Zines are foidcoded to the gills and looking at them makes me angry. They're just an avenue to spread neuroticism and fujoism.

I made a zine in 1996. It talked about why the Playstation was the best console of it's generation and how the Saturn and the N64 were for gays and r-slurs. Circulation a few kids in my class.

And I was right, the PSX fricking destroyed the competition :marseybigbrain:

These whipper snappers don't know what it was like opening up a magazine and getting a free demo disc that had the first levels of both metal gear solid and syphon filter on it.

I used to be so excited :marseyfsjal: for my Nintendo :marseykirby2: Power :marseyokay: mags to show up. I reread the one that announced Pokemon :marseywiglett: Gold and Silver :marseybadgejew: over and over, it's all I could think :marseygigathonk: about. Oh my god I haven't felt so excited :marseydance: for anything :marseycoleporter: like that in so long :marseydepressed:

Also why are so many of them bringing up their bills. No one cares everyone has bills and that is why almost everyone looks for a job. No one thinks you are looking for a job for fun after getting fired.

You're forgetting one thing: They also have :!marseysoypoint2: the correct opinions. :marseysoypoint: That matters more than actual skill in today's gaming industry.

A major :marseygaygeneral: factor that lead me to my career was job security. I could've done something  else that made more money :marseygeralt: or is actually :marseynerd3: fun but having a steady job was priority number one for me.

This tactic is for jobs like game informer where it's not what you know, it's who you know. Posting "im available" on twitter is the best move to land another cushy job like this outside of having someone know someone.

Unfortunately, those types of jobs are drying up and startup culture is eating their lunch.
