Hate to see it, but also good riddance. pic.twitter.com/bpehJ8GWd0
His initial response was fricking very patient and kind
They proceed to react very normally to this :
He continued tweeting about it as the fricking reactions got more and more schizophrenic
Naturally he grew to hate them more and more, which is fricking somehow his fault.
Naturally smug twitter leftists caught wind of this
The fricking image he posted shows him being polite and clearly stating the fricking guy was fricking banned for being a fricking peepee, not advocating for homosex
But of course they have an answer for that too
He posts about it again, because rent free
Might be the fricking funniest way to say "I'm a fricking bigot" I've seen on here.
Whatever happens now, this indie dev is fricking unfortunately in the fricking culture war now just because he didn't IMMEDIATELY kneel to the fricking homosex mafia

Yeah this is like the thing that's most odd to me about Qud, the developers clearly know how to write an interesting setting but are completely asinine about things whenever you wanna bring up the lore but don't disparage the Eaters or Templars as being evil chuds.
It's like they want to you to see "EUGENICS AND CASTES ARE EVIL" when in reality the game's literally just saying "WHOA, COOL FUTURE" at every part of its gameplay.
It's a shame because it means they'll never give truekin absurdly broken cybernetics to let them go cyberpsycho

I feel so vindicated knowing there is another Qud fan out there willing to call out the dev's BS. Fifteen years in development and it's still not finished. Back before the devs went politisperg, the Templar had pretty normal Qud descriptions. They were described as chrome knights of a holy order - yada yada. It was cool. Then shortly after Sseth reviewed the game, they changed the description to something along the lines of "crooked spined and EVIL, this inbred chud is bad!"
They should have stuck with show - don't tell style of writing.

Yeah I was playing some Qud last year and thought that the Templar descriptions were kind of bizzare but also oddly added a lot of tragedy to their cause - they basically have nothing but their creed since presumably no one'd want to take in a Putus defectee (the only one you meet had to eke out an existence as a lone bounty hunter) and even if they wanted to defect, they'd have to bear the burden of being an actual inbred freak without even having a religious narrative that portays it as a sign of 'nobility'.
Another detail in modern Qud I found funny was how they changed the jungle savages' names from something like 'Savage' to 'Hunter' and so on. As if "tribal group of r-slurs tricked into worshipping robots" isn't already a massive reference to irl cargo cults.
Did you ever notice that the Bey Lah quests are quite silly when you realize what they're trying to parody as well?

The Bey Lah quest(s) are the most eye rolling of all. The love note thing, the sibling of the thief girl, and the fact that no matter where the evidence points to which culprit - the best outcome is always exiling the evil le transphobic matriarch. Qud is a strange example of people becoming worse writers with more practice.

Actually the best outcome is just killing everyone and taking their shit. The game somehow improves despite the worsening writing if you just headcannon your character as being a wagner group deathmarine that just wants to kill everyone and everything.
I did find it kind of telling that they specifically chose the youngest, childlike and anemic sibling to be the trans standin... kind of absurd. That said I'm not really sure that the matriarch's meant to be transphobic, I mostly saw the whole questchain as a riff on indian hijras and other weird historical genderspecial groups, though even then it still comes across as a rather contrived issue since the hindren are meant to be like frogs and capable of switching either or anyway...

That's a good point about the hindren and sexes. Your death machine playstyle sounds pretty awesome. I've had a few runs where I get lucky on the specificities of Bey Lah's economic situation and get the best possible outcome (exiling the matriarch while she was the actual guilty party who sold off Kindrish for trade reasons) so that their merchant sells higher tier items later, but by the time I go back to check the merchant I've already got way better stuff. I sure and heck aren't returning Kindrish if I can get enough Troll rep to find it. I just don't want to kill off the little nerdy Shakespeare/Sherlock Holmes guy because he is pretty funny and well written. Talking about it now is making me realize that the really good writing far outweighs the cheesy bad stuff - it's just that the bad stuff is so stark in how out of place it is. Qud still is an incredible game and probably the best made traditional style roguelike ever made.

I'm pretty sure you don't even have to kill the entire hindren tribe if you wanna obliterate the matriarch and the others since I only remember her buttbuddy guard and the matriarch herself actually aggroing when I toss my TND thermal grenades.
Though I'm not actually sure how easy or realistic this is with a 'real' build, since I generally just get two uzis, rush the akimbo skill perk and just mow everything I come across down with a hailstorm of shitty bullets, to the point I don't actually know how to 'win' against anything without just raining a bulletstorm.

Being a mobile bullet storm in the ultimate. Find a gun rack and giant hands as a true kin and live the life you were meant to with 4 chain laser guns turning everything to dust

Also, just briefly remembered this, but it's kind of funny that the devs wrote the game like that despite how realistically the actual area you play in, in Qud would probably have one of the most patriarchal social structures and hegemonies to exist.
Because it takes place smack dab in Jerusalem. Muslims called Jerusalem Al-Quds, the old empires were led by Sultans... everything's a desert...
just kind of obvious.
