IIRC Sten became the next Arishok after DA2? I wish we could have seen him in Inquisition, but I feel like he's too non-PC to come back in the franchise. Wokeists can't even depict villains as something-phobe, let alone a good guy.

Remember how Ashley from Mass Effect was a space racist. IIRC you could get her to change her ways to be more accepting of big black alien peepee.

She wasn't even that racist, she thought maybe earth shouldn't start bootlicking the one-world government where the species that fought humans is on the security council and humanity isn't

Ashley was right about everything lmao. Her main belief was that aliens would put their own species before others in a crisis, even if they genuinely believed in the Council. "If you get attacked by a bear, you'll sic your dog to save yourself. Doesn't mean you don't love your dog."

Mass Effect 3 proves her right since every alien refuses to help out until you've solved all their domestic problems. Half the time they created their own problems in the first place.

And amazingly the "reading literacy"people tought that Ashley saying "aliens see humans as a dog" meant she thought that aliens were dogs :marseysigh:

I thought they fixated on that one line on the citadel where Ashley says you can't tell the animals apart from the aliens or something, maybe I'm misremembering.

It's a throwaway line towards the beginning and you can see her open up to aliens later on. The ME1 writers tried to include the complex perspective of someone whose family fought in the a literal first contact war with aliens and was politically raked over the coals for not doing well, trying to adjust to this multi-racial environment. She's genuinely a great character and gets shit on for not realizing the 22nd century aliens would basically have the same values as 21st century millennials.

They also dislike that line yeah

Tbh it's sad that a character from a 2007 game is written in a more nuanced way than many modern games... and even then though I really like it mass effect 1 is still mass market level writing quality
