Yeah I think it's so weird when you come back to old AAA games and realize you can pretty much divide them by era depending on which weird anti-features they insist on.
Oh, this's a game from the QTE Era,
This's the game from the 'turret minigame' era.
Oh, this one's from the escort mission era.
And so on and on.
One thing I've got to say is that they do lack the weird sense of ironic enjoyment games nowadays have, they're very genuine about their oftentimes formulaic stories and don't really have weird airs about themselves.
