I don't mind hard boss fights that you're expected to die a lot before beating, but having to spend 2 minutes running back to the boss room should be a hanging offence.

there were a couple instances where it was bad I'll agree, but I think overall it added to the game. You explore an area, learn the mobs, then have to try to get to the boss as cleanly as possible to have the best attempt

There are other trilogies not as sporadic in quality as Morrowind - Skyrim.
Morrowind is solid
Oblivion is janky as shit
Skyrim is good for goofing around.
Also these games aren't a fricking trilogy
Edit: Thinking on it, the first 3 dragon ages are pretty much the same just slightly more skewed due to DA 2 being a significantly bigger frick up than Oblivion

Tevinter seems to have been retconned into some final fantasy type bullshit, where it's still "medieval", but with sprinklings/handfuls modern tech. Healing magic has been steadily scaled back in capabilities in the series. I don't believe there's even a healing spell in the last game.
