I'm saying that to your other interests, hoi4 isn't about painting maps, you literally get weaker if you do it, unlike say victoria 2 or EU4. HOI4 is above all a WW2 war game, and it's best played as such with two teams of axis vs allies. That's how paradox QA plays themselves.

Vicky has a (basic) economy simulator to fiddle with (2, not 3, 3 is a clicker game) and CK is half an RPG and half strategy game

Have you ever actually played HOI4? It's literally an RTS through and through, build orders and macro galore. EU is a map painter, hoi4 is a competitive RTS. The nonsense you're saying is essentially

"StarCraft is a map painter cuz you have to take your opponents base"

It's nonsense, and it's very obvious you've never played actual hoi4. Single player hoi4, is not hoi4. It's singleplayer larpistan. Victoria is a good game, but it can be reduced the same way in singleplayer by simply annexing so much land that infamy doesn't hurt you, but that's not Victoria, is it? To claim victoria is remotely better than HOI4 is ridiculous, there's a reason HOI has always been the flagship of Paradox, it simply has gameplay, which is designed around playing in an actually historical Axis vs Allies settin. It's an RTS. The EU series is always the first in line because it doesn't have gameplay, it's a game where there is only one goal, and that is to conquer, and every mechanic within centers around letting you annex easier. Not so in hoi4.

You are deluded if you think it's because it's the better game, I don't know if there's stats for single vs multiplayer but I'm willing to bet @Sphereserf3232's left testicles that not even 10% of players are on multiplayer

It's a map painter first and if some schizos made it into a competitive RTS with a mod, I commend them for their work, I heard some people turned Minecraft into an RTS too
