It was made by a Norwegian dev team who wanted to make a game geared towards an American lib audienece. But due to cultural and language barriers, the nuancea of American liberal politics got lost and it led to a lot of saying the quiet part out loud.
My favorite example is that "Cancel" is a move meant to isolate enemies from their support network. Basically admitting that: yes, canceling is real; yes, it's targeted; and yes, they view it as a practical strategy. Which we all knew, but foreigners didn't realize that part of the strategy is pretending it's not real.
