Tbf they haven't released any successful games recently, hopefully this year is better with 3 big titles slated to launch.

Then again Nintendo will probably smoke them with the Switch 2, so :marseyshrug:.

They release CoD every year, doesn't really mean anything tbh. However you're right, Xbox is fricked without big changes.

We might get paid the exact same amount every year and make the exact same profits every year? Microsoft has fallen. :marseypearlclutch:

Everybody has to retire at some point. Worst case scenario with megacorps is that they get stuck at their level and surpassed by bigger more productive companies. The nation continues to prosper. 3-4 trillion USD peak isn't really that bad. We are probably gonna end up with 10 to 20 three trillion USD companies and then one of them will manage to finally break into the next layer leaving everybody else behind. I am personally betting on some US merger of two megacorps like Amazon and Microsoft or Tesla and Nvidia. Just slightly different enough companies to not allow them to be a monopoly in any specific industry but still be overpowered together.

Microsoft is publicly traded, stagnation is terrible for them.

not really. As I said somewhere else. Megacorps do not collapse. They get left behind on their step on the ladder as everybody else surpasses them over time.

Literally doesn't matter because every xbox sale feeds into the microsoft ecosystem

also xbox is way more popular outside of the US so this isn't a huge surprise

Uh It's actually the complete opposite. They are much more popular in the US than world wide. I'm sure the idea is to funnel users into subscriptions but that only went up 2%(Xbox content and services revenue). That include COD and the 20% price increase they had this year. Games are fundamentally different that movie streaming. They are fricked dude.
