It really seems like chuds have tied their credibility and the belief that going woke means you go broke on this game doing poorly and now that it's out and has near universal acclaim they are flailing grasping at any straws they can find.
Which just kind of undermines their point, they will walk away from this whole situation thinking KCD2 is a game where you sodomize boys with Mali BIPOCs and that somehow despite their screeding and attempts at cancelling it it did really well. When in reality it's just kcd1 but slightly worse.

I just wish they were more strategic haha. They were smart enough to ignore that BG3 was by far the wokest game of 2023 when that was winning every award under the sun. You can't keep culture war grifting if people see there isn't a correlation between how woke a game is and how poorly it is received. So why bet against games that are obviously going to be good lol. If anything they should be telling the truth when it comes to KCD2. It's a game set near kuttenberg a very large city at the time which would have drawn people from all kinds of places and game isn't woke so it's okay that it is doing well. KCD1 was set in backwater Bohemia so it made sense for there to not even be any gypsies.

Well we don't exactly have respectable leaders that tell journ*lists to tell us what to think and do..
It's just a bunch of different people who are pissed off at different amounts of wokeness in games. Some are diehard antis that will boycott a game with a single black, others think trans repreresentation is fine if it's done tastefully etc.
And g*mers don't exactly have a lot of choice these days. It's either indie kickstarter grifting, mobile gachas, console pleb shit or woke shit. The days of games being targeted at PC g*mer audience are long gone. A lot of us went into modding old games as a result
Here's an example of last game i tried: Throne and liberty, the BIG new amazing mmo! Enter character creation: choose your body type: A/B, ok whatever, i'll ignore it, load game: 40 fps no matter the settings. Apparently the game only runs decent if you have a super new nivida gpu that has fake frame generation shit. Couldn't stand it and quit

I mean you can kind of know when a game is going to be shit lol, especially for sequels. Just look at the elements that made the first game fantastic.
Before launch Veilguard showcased marvel slop tier writing and wokeness to the point of absurdity.
Meanwhile KCD2 is a highly anticipated sequel to a game with fantastic writing, Euro jank combat, great characters and a beautiful world. And prior to launch they showcased great writing, the same euro jank combat, mostly the same characters people already love and a beautiful world.
I honestly think the main issue is that the people complaining about the game haven't played the first one. They have just read reviews and have created a head canon of what the game was through like osmosis and word of mouth. It wasn't some Catholic chud simulator where you ran around subjugating women lol. The game featured lots of insane depraved elements and shat on Catholics at every turn. I also think it partially stems from a misunderstanding that people in medieval Europe weren't just like us right now, humans with real desires and flaws.

It's not really a game for baldurs gate fans. It's a game for Divinity original sin 1/2 fans. Which I happen to be. But don't blame larian for that lol, blame wizards of the coast for giving them the license. I prefer the combat and lore of divinity anyways.
