Cliff Notes are self-made Korean immigrant lady has a trans daughter and her friend who want to open a woke coffee shop, because mom is wealthy (owns multiple businesses and rental properties in this neighborhood, iirc) she helps finance them. The daughter/friend run the day-to-day operations, hire a bunch of uber woke people who decide they want to turn the business into a co-op; Mom doesn't like this, refuses. Employees start to drag the coffee shop on instagram publicly shaming them. The daughter/friend put a video on IG in response groveling and bending the knee saying it's out of their control and the employees can do nothing wrong (it feels like it's being made at gunpoint). Mom basically says she'd sell the business before bending the knee to r-slurred employees. Story went no where for 2 weeks or so, and now this.

It's not that they find it hard, it's not like they're desperately fighting an addiction that gives them a constant urge to steal, some kind of racially built in kleptomania. They steal because they want to, they thinks it's fun, and that have literally no regard whatsoever for anyone but them and theirs, + they get social clout among their peers. If you've talked to them or overheard them talking amongst themselves about stealing shit it becomes immediately apparent.

You should also consider the extreme impact aliention based on real or perceived injustice can have.
When you grow up dirt poor and feel like an outsider based on again, real or perceived racism it's easier to form a permission structure and justify anti-social behavior or extreme criminality.
It's like when those rightoids asked a black rioter why they were "destroying their own community" and her response was "we don't have anything, we don't own anything."
That right there should tell you thay they don't feel like it's their community as they have no real stake in it.
It's probably gotten even worse in recent years with the racial propaganda - if you feel you have no chance at life, alienated in your own country, a country that literally enslaved your people and engaged in profound oppression well into the 1980, why on earth would you not be a criminal, or have any respect for it?
Imo extreme resentment towards America, our inability to ever address the very real racial trauma that exists, and poor economic conditons basically fully explains black gang culture.
We slapped a bandaid over said trauma and hoped it'd go away - well it didn't.

This fails to explain why black american populations were much more high functioning prior to the civil rights movement, with single motherhood exploding after, despite racism going down in America year by year.
I think it's a combination of the legitimate alienation you mentioned, but also a black culture that developed a victimhood complex and never recovered, cheered on by a pseudoscientific, anti-american left wing steadily gaining influence since the 60s, undermining black american culture ever since and grooming them into being against the things they claim are 'whiteness', like punctuality, work ethic, rational thinking, or rugged individualism.

I don't understand why anyone would want to go into food service, even as an owner. The work is hard and unglamorous, the profit margins are slim, what's even the upside? Maybe it's because I'm not crazy into food, but I can't see the appeal.

Despite all the mockery baristas get it's kinda fun. It's not anywhere near as bad as fast food, or other food service and the tips are good. I wouldn't want to do it again, or own one because my work is better now. But running your own shop with nice beans, good music and low overhead wouldn't be bad outside of the hours.

My wife was a professional barista and manager before opening her restaurant. The hardest part is as much as you love making coffee and the science behind it and perfecting your shopβs experience, thereβs an infinite supply of idiotic college kids who lie their way through an interview just to treat the job as crap and will ignore customers, miss shifts and offer a huge range of excuses like βmental healthβ problems and because theyβre zoomers their likely to call you some form of bigot and trash you on media for firing.
