From reddit, to other social media platforms, to LGBT and feminist organizations, it’s incredibly strange to me the way that terfs are made out to be the biggest threat to trans people, and especially to trans women. This isn’t me being dismissive and denying the existence of transphobic women, but at times it really comes off misogynistic the way terfs are blamed for all, or so many of our issues when the majority of the people in power that create transphobic legislation are cis men.

I’ve seen terfs get brought up and blamed when news breaks about a trans woman being murdered despite the fact that odds are the killer was a man. So many trans women I know have been the victims of violence at the hands of male partners, but it almost seems like mainstream activism hardly pays attention to the intimate partner violence epidemic that trans women are facing. It’s just all about terfs invalidating us and somehow this is more rage inducing for many people…

One thing I’ve noticed though, every transphobic woman gets labeled a terf even if they have no affiliation with (radical) feminism. Terf is being used as a placeholder for transphobe, and even conservative cis men have the label applied to them, so every harmful thing they do is somehow the doing of…terfs.

The terf hysteria just seems so far removed from reality a lot of the time

TERFs scare the living fricking shits of daylights out of me because they're eloquent and insidious.

An ignorant transphobe can scream about me all they want, but I'm confident a fair number of those would actually see the light if they took the time to get to know me, to my face.

A TERF denies the existence of my male soul and will slowly strangle him to a painful and horrific death, with the mask of progressivism pulling others in with her, and eventually against me and those like me.

There's a bible-banging utopia where I'm beaten to death or something nice and obvious and dramatic and quick, and there's a TERF utopia where I'm imprisoned for the rest of my life in a bodily horror where no one believes I'm in pain because there's 'nothing to be trans about '. Quite honestly that second world scares me more.

if this sounds a bit dramatic I drank for the first time in a couple months tonight but also have quite strong feelings about TERFs 🙃 (the ones who don't believe transition is necessary, anyway)

there’s nothing to misunderstand, you’ve made your point very clear. my argument is that it’s stupid and the notion that terfs are being targeted for being women and not loud, violent (and in rowlings case) increasingly powerful threats to trans people should have stayed in your head

I don't know why I'm even wasting my time with you. You're a joke of a human being. Trans people hate you, a majority of feminists hate you, leftists hate you, conservatives hate you, Reddit hates you, and the people who make the talking points you make, as a general rule, hate you. That's why you're here, and that's why I'm leaving this godforsaken shithole of a subreddit, because I can't deal with all the fricking projected self-hatred and arguing. You people are batshit.
