This is classic 'demented punk' work resulting from the intersection of personal politics and corporate politics. The alien, once a friendly figure, is portrayed as a villian, representing an encroaching force of corporate safety. Remember, this Reddit is occupied territory: investors own this space and you are here to be farmed.

The message of this piece is that if you resist the imposition of more forceful and contrived moderation, you must necessarily accrue the 'signifiers' of that which is shut down. This is 'culture jamming': the juxtaposition of contradictory elements (nazi AND lgbt) in order to provoke confusion instead of clarity in order to illuminate the Real: you are here to be farmed by an alien.

Personally I think the piece tells a self-serving narrative because it necessarily functions as propaganda, and propaganda should be clear.

This is the problem with redditors, everyone in that /r/art thread trying to "analyze" this picture is starting with the assumption "Nazi imagery = totally serious" and working from there. Even though everything else in frame is ridiculous, they just can't wrap their heads around the idea that people can find inherent humor in the juxtaposition of controversial and cutesy imagery.

That being said, I'm proud of each and every one of you here for keeping omerta and only giving vague joke answers. Let them wonder.
