I guess the problem here is disentangling race from privilege.
Kwarteng is a prototypical Tory cabinet member (Eton / Cambridge / City job / etc) except for the colour of his skin.
I only wish I could be treated with such kid gloves if I were ever to make horrendously racist remarks on a public broadcast.
I do get where she's coming from though. Kwasi Kwarteng is from a BAME background and yet his political belief is "f*** the poor"?? Being black and Tory is like being a policeman who sells guns.
Your comment implies that you think BAME people must be poor, by definition, and if they aren't then they don't actually "qualify" for their ethnicity.
