Not exactly the best person to ask but i'll give it a shot.
South - Karanataka ranks 2nd last over here, its a nice place but not really special per se. But can cause a lot of seethe when clashing with Tamilnadu for river water. Its capital was/is the silicon valle of India.
Goa - Ranks last but Nice tourist place for beaches if you are rich enough and can avoid the lower quality resorts, I recommend resorts with private beaches they aren't too expensive here. Nearly drowned in one of the rivers there was a very fun experience unironically
Kerala - Minus points for being absolutely smug fricks who are just future gulf citizens in waiting, but otherwise they are fairly chill people who love their coconuts and coconut oil. Have some fairly interesting advancements like the cochin airport being the worlds first fully solar powered airport
Tamilnadu - My home state, it does have a lot of nice things but we sometimes tend to end up making a proper clown of ourselves. Have a reputation for being the most racist bunch with a lot of tamil supremacists, ironically also the one with a fairly high number of progressives. History of our state politicians threatening to secede from India for stupid reasons, but also one of the last few states to not get cucked by bjp purely because of our love for our language. For some reason we really hate teluguites. And proud shit stirrers in sri lanka locking it into civil war. Really is a state with lots of ups and downs
Andhra/Telangana - I'll leave this one to the native teluguite

Gets points from me due to being a partial teleugite and being my gfs homestate, causing proper slapfights between tamilians and teleguites over the stupidest shit like movie industry supremacy and the likes. Also yes RRR state, though funnily enough my girlfriend fricking hated the movie and was whining about being made to watch it, still not seen it so i promised her i am dragging her to watch it when i finally bother to.

And as for kashmir, its dramatic because both pakistan and india claim it as theirs. It is indians though pakis can go r*pe goats elsewhere. Lot of muslim seethe because they lost their special status which made the state nearly 99% muslims which they were anyway supposed to lose a decade back irc but no govt did it until the current one, so state is in near eternal sanctions from central govt and have army stationed because terrorism and border sharing with pakis and chinks.

West Bengal-Home. We peaked in early 1900s and have been going down a decline with no end in sight since. The middle class neighbourhoods look like retirement homes cause no one stays here anymore, I will probably not either. Fairly smug state but not without reason, in the Eastern region no state basically comes close to us. This unfortunately means we are now a minority in several of our own cities.
50 years from now Biharis and Bangladeshis will be fighting over our clay. 
Our fertility rate is 1.6, in my city its 1.2. Beautiful geography, we have everything from snow covered peaks to beaches to mangrove forests(In which dwells the famous royal Bengal tiger)
Assam/Orissa-Our tarded neighbours, language is basically a Chinese knockoff of ours but Assamese hate us while Oriyas just try to steal our cultural items and claim them to be their own. Irrelevant to everyone else and they can't stop seething about this.
Bihar-Gas them all right after the muzzies
Uttar pradesh-Slightly richer Biharis but they aren't ethnic supremacists like Biharis(who ethnically cleansed Bengali middle class from Bihar but still come to our cities like shameless BIPOCs) and generally bother the west coasters so I'm fine with them.
Rajasthan-Interesting state, was poor and very conservative with women still mostly veiled in the rural parts when I visited but seem to be catching up economically at least, leveraging proximity to new Delhi. Used to be Indias only desert but large scale geoengineering since the 70s means most of it is gone now, they have a few small dunes they take tourists to. Rich history, kept muzzies out mostly and have some great forts.
Himachal/Uttarakhand-Lazy people but I like them, very trustworthy and have honour. Unlike most of the Hindi belt and honestly my state too. Best part of the himalayas for a poorstrag student like me, has infra for solo backpackers.
Gujarat-Coastal arid state so they became maritime traders. Rich and getting richer cause current PM is a gujjew. Tbf they have good work ethic too, Mumbai is only Mumbai cause of Gujaratis. Also makes muzzies sneed cause they paid them back in their own coin so I stan them.
Jharkhand/Chattisgarh-Abbos, mining and maoist insurgent belt. Extremely corrupt.
Punjab-Druggies and wannabe bipocs with gangster culture. Used to be secessionists. Kang about their martial abilities and caste with one breath then denounce Hindus for casteism with the next. Was a prosperous agri and industrial state but on rapid decline now.
Maharashtra-Had the largest empire before Angloid took over and can't stop kanging about it ever since. Worthless population otherwise, sneeds constantly about outsiders in Mumbai despite living off their taxes.

Its still lawless a senior recently got slapped and had her phone snatched in broad daylight in a old Delhi market. I found a really cheap PG in Gurgaon before my uncle offered to let me freeload at his posh south Delhi place till I got a hostel, my parents vetoed it though and I thought they were being paranoid. After hearing her story I think they were right lul if that shit can happen in broad daylight to a foid even my peepee might not be sufficient protection at night

On Telangana and AP, after the division AP was on the rise thx to CBN's plans but that state is mainly farmers and poor people so they were easily hoodwinked by the free schemes byJagan and now it's on the path to become next bihar. My family is from AP and I used to have a soft spot for the people of AP but they are caste obsessed weirdos. Many heads were shaved and lobbed off because of the caste rivalry. Don't care about AP any more, it's a fate thry themselves chose so frick them.
Telangana on the other hand has hyderabad and the iron fist of KCR. He managed to keep his politicians from publicly embarrassing themselves but the cracks are appearing slowly and bjp is going to pounce soon sadly.
Overall only the film industry somewhat unifies the two states now even though the industry itself is casteist and full of nepotism. But I guess the fact that the Telugu film industry is fighting with bollowood now, everyone is united.
Overall TG is far better than Karnataka (frick that state and frick bangalore, what a horrible city) and AP is going to be the next bihar. I have no idea about TN but agree with you on kerala
