Here's a fun extra layer to the story, the shooter was arrested in 2021 for threatening to kill his mother with homemade explosives and he got into a standoff with police before they arrested him, yet the shooter was released without trial and his charges were dropped. Law enforcement has refused to say why when pressed for details

I'm pretty sure they didn't find bombs or materials, and that's why there were never any charges. It was a claim his estranged mother made, but when cops showed up she wasn't there. They figured out he didn't even live there, went to his actual home and found jack shit when they searched it, but still arrested him.
