Idea: Copyright famous Powermod usernames and the submit copyright strikes to reddit. I have no clue how involved/expensive something like this would be, but the #1 thing that causes a takedown on social media sites is copyright strikes. The offending powerjannies would have no recourse for this.
I mean if you can copyright an anal cream called "Bussy Balm" should be no problem snagging a powerjannie name

How would an account name be a copyright violation?

That's why he needs a lawyer to explain to him why it's not.

You can't trademark/copyright existing properties (the usernames in this case would be considered properties) and then attempt to sue them for infringement. The mods would have years of history showing that they were using the names first and you'd have no standing.
You're an idiot.

Yeah but the powerjannies aren't going to have a legal fight over their user name, and reddit isn't going to invest resources in perusing these claims, especially if it leads to uncollectabke legal fees.
Social media companies are quick on the draw for pulling content.

Pic unrelated. Just saw this while browsing the U. S. Patent Office database and thought it was funny.

IANAL but you canβt βcopyrightβ social media names. You can trademark them but you have to have a reasonable social media presence with the name. Copyrights are for βworkβ like books and hentai. Trademarks are for branding and logos.

Ok just link bardfinns page on the trademark filing. Will they ask for proof of ownership?

So if I create Bardfinn, LLC and complain to reddit that this user is misrepresenting my brand reddit won't ban the user name?
From reddits content policy
Rule 5
You donβt have to use your real name to use Reddit, but donβt impersonate an individual or an entity in a misleading or deceptive manner.

No because they are not impersonating your LLC. Their comments and posts do not claim to be representing your LLC and their account significantly predates your filings. Thatβs like saying u/pepsi_next the banned porn karma farmer bot was impersonating Pepsi co, or the gimmick tbell support account is impersonation Yum Brands.
Itβd be hard to even claim the Reddit account could cause undue confusion or tarnish the LLCβs name since youβd need a field you operate in and the reddit account is clearly not operating any form of business.

Helpful, thanks! I know next to nothing about IP law.

No problem. This is pretty straightforward if you know the relevant definitions but it gets really convoluted when you start talking about patents, adaptations, parody, etc.

O say can you shart, in the local Walmart?
What so proudly expelled from anus' last leaking
Whose broad streaks and brown stars through the perilous blight
O'er the aisles we watched shit, gallantly streaming
And mutts nappy hair, negroes everywhere
Give proof that our race is 56% disgrace
O say, does that shiet-spangled bummer yet cut
O'er the land of the shart and the home of the mutt
