The fact that law enforcement wasted time, money, and mini-Ruby Ridge’ed this r-slurred family for a fricking goat should be seared in the memory of anyone who thinks local/county law enforcement do anything important other than jacking each other off at their speed traps and being a tax burden almost as much at their NEET shitlib children that hate them, which they inevitably have.

You fricking r-slur, the family tried to get out of trouble after stealing the goat from the fair by foisting it off on a rescue operation. The cops literally drove to the rescue, retrieved the goat with permission, and took it back to its lawful owner.

The sheriff’s office declined to comment on the lawsuit, but in a court filing Thursday denied most of the claims and said no warrant was needed at the Sonoma farm.

β€œDefendants assert that no warrant was necessary to retrieve Cedar at the Sonoma Farm as they had consent from the property owner to retrieve the goat,” the filing says.

I typically hate the police in most cases that make the news but here they were 100% in the right.

It's not a breach of contract issue, it's theft. The family brought the goat to the auction at the fair, it was auctioned, and they absconded with the goat. They stole the goat. They physically walked off with property that did not belong to them. Breach of contract would have been failing to deliver the goat to the fair in the first place. Once you turn it over to the fair, you no longer have any real ownership claim to the animal itself, just to the proceeds.

To clarify for the non-ruralcels: the County Fair is a weeklong process where the animals raised by kids are all brought together at a central fairgrounds, held there as they are inspected/shown to the public, and then auctioned off at far above market price. Proceeds support the fair itself and entice the ruralcel child to raise more/better animals and become a professional farmoid.

This girl and her mother had nine months of raising the animal to back out and have it not be theft. They could have not presented the animal to the fair and not housed it in the fair's pen for a week. But they turned it over and let it go through auction. It is theft.

instead of writing this novel, should've googled "possession"

It's 9/10ths the law. Ergo the family retained ownership

They spent more money in gas on β€œrescuing” a β€œstolen” goat, a contract in which one of the parties attempted to not enter into, possibly, before full execution, wasted probably another 500 dollars of manpower and administrative costs, and delivered a little kid’s goat to be slaughtered for some r-slur.

Local cops are never right you fricking midwit, suck my shaft. None of these fricking morons are right, anyone of an IQ over 105 could have avoided this whole fricking waste of time. I’ve slaughtered animals, I’ve slaughtered goats (in Iraq, actually), I still think this is an r-slured way of teaching and will lead to the kid turning into a Redditoid

I can’t wait for AI to take over, the average frickface is incapable of making their own decisions.
