Compared with children raised in single-mother families created by the death of the father, children raised in divorced single-mother families have significantly lower levels of education, occupational status, and happiness in adulthood. Yet divorced single mothers are not significantly different than their widowed counterparts in child rearing, gender role, and family values and in religiosity, health-related behaviors, and other dimensions of lifestyle. However, relative to widowed single mothers, divorced single mothers hold lower occupational positions, are more financially stressed, and have a higher rate of participation in the paid labor force. We speculate that the contrasting positions in the social structure of different types of single-mother families may account for observed differences in child outcomes.

It's gotten so bad that I can't even talk to friends who are "conservative", because white cis staight men in power and everyone subservient to them to allow Capitalism to flourish (as it can only flourish on exploitation) is the explicit conservative agenda. I avoid family, I avoid other people, me and my kids are outcasts as atheist socialists in a deeply conservative community

The isolation isn't externally inflicted like she'd have you believe. She's unwilling to swallow her pride to prevent her kids suffering. She's also in desperate need of a strong community to support her while directly opposing anything that might create one

This is indeed true. After all, with that work schedule she also gets no breaks during work in which to research things on her phone. Also she has no support groups despite working hours that mean she can't be looking after her own kids during a lot of normal times, so what's the deal there?

That thing about the single mom commune actually makes a lot of sense, but you'd have to do a lot of vetting to make sure child predators didn't slip into the commune... or people like me who'd prey on the single moms

I'm not Christian and yet in troubled times the local church was always friendly if I came in and ask them to help me find my way - and without even enough evangelism to win me over. Churches are just great at caring for those who need help.

For real. Churches are great support networks. When my grandfather died it took a few days to get out to my grandmother (she lived far away) but by the time we got there all the church ladies had been helping her and keeping her company.
