What the frick does this even mean?

How is being a landlord loaning banks an asset? For 30 years? And getting paid back by randos?

The asset is the property, which the landlord owns and controls. The value of this asset goes up over time and the landlord can cash out by selling at any time.

Then there's the passive income of collecting rent from the rentoids. So asset goes up in value and also pays you income, and this is somehow "brainless"?

I think you must be an r-slur.
