Straight up been feeling like that south park episode for years now.
I know it's not just me being depressed, because I get so much enjoyment from older movies, music, books... and there are of course non-dooky things that come out here and there. They're almost never popular.
I'm just listening to pretty well known 60s/70s/80s music and imagining how on earth I could've disliked it if I was around back then. I don't think I'm just being a contrarian and disliking what's popular.
How did we go from Woodstock to Lizzo? How did we go from original blockbuster movies coming out left and right in the 80s to blockbusters being purely capeshit, remakes/reboots, and capeshit wannabes?
More importantly, will this era of cultural stagnation ever end?
Is Western culture dead forever? Am I just a trans-boomer?

Saw them post heroin-phase (With Teeth). About as mediocre as you'd expect. I missed out on seeing them during the Fragility era where Trent walked around like a frickin' coked out vampire with black rings around his eyes smashing shit on stage.

Woodstock 99 was so based that HBO felt the need to put out a documentary complaining about all the white people and blaming Donald Trump for the fires.
