If you missed the last few posts on this, Sora is the newest product from OpenAI that generates video from text prompts.

For a first public preview, it's pretty impressive. You can tell it's AI when you look for it, but your average infinite scroller won't suspect a thing.

I'm agree with the people saying this'll make things easier for skilled professionals in the industry. Just like with art AI, it'll maybe an issue for those in the bottom rung of their profession(whatever their equivalent of the twitter furry porn artist is) but not much else.

But the talentless, soulless bugmen going "omg I'm going to le heckin own the filmmakers and writers and make my own kino :soyjakdancing2:" will be sorely disappointed.

It's just like AI art, it's only going to assist a talented person, not make you talented by pushing a button. It's like a blueprint you work off of, but you need real skills (lighting, colours, story, dialogue etc) to turn it into something real.

But it will 100% make it easier for young talented filmmakers at some point in the future.

This is still at the toy stage though
