Ages ago I recall reading that at least in the more Orthodox interpretation of Sunni Islam, Allah made a covenant with Adam, so Islam is the first and only true religion that has always existed since the time of creation, and all of Adam's descendants would be born as Muslims who testify Tawhid (the Monotheism of Allah), but would later on be converted to another religion or just become atheists due to the influence of their parents.
There was also a vague mention about how some Islamic terrorist groups use this covenant of Adam as an excuse to justify killings of random civilians and innocents, their logic is that since all humans are born Muslims due to the Adamic covenant, and the punishment for apostasy from Islam is death, therefore, all non-Muslims are valid targets, but this felt like a lazy geopolitically illiterate Westoid take, not all Islamic terrorist groups justify their attacks by mentioning the Adamic covenant, they often clash with each other and have very different philosophies despite being from the same religion and having the same goals.
