There are an innumerable differences of opinion in the "alt-right." Trying to assign unified political beliefs to them is a fool's errand.

From what I remember most of the pro-Syrian stuff is derived from Putin simping, general anti-West sentiment, funny Assad memes, and early years of "refugees" back near the Arab Spring and beginning of the Syrian Civil War.

Yeah, the irony is that pretty much every thought leader in the alt-right is a highly neurotic, nerdy, rootless cosmopolitan highly online intellectual who has gym muscles if he has any muscles worth noting at all, is insecure about his own masculinity, and constantly thinks about race and s*x. But these Midwesterners aren't descended from entrepreneurial adventurers like the rest of us. These people mostly settled areas where aggro Scotch Irish types had driven off the Injun decades ago, so they never had to embrace the risk-tolerant, enterprising, itinerant mindset that had once fueled Manifest Destiny. Instead they produced families that became weirdly attached to their generic little plot of fungible prairie dirt, and as a result we now have huge pockets of the country full of overcivilized and effete Teutons with no conquering spirit who treat outsiders like shit.

Yes though it depends somewhat on which area of the Midwest. Like my entire mom and dad's side of the family were German or Dane Lutherans from Schleswig and they settled in an area of eastern Iowa where basically everyone else was from that area too.

There's also a lot of Scandis when you get into the upper Midwest like Minnesota, Northern IA and the Dakotas. There's a bunch of Dutch in Southern IA too.

Yes but the sub varieties are pretty clustered, low country types in the upper Midwest, regular Krauss in the more eastern parts, Volga Germans in the central parts.
