I wonder if modern documentation of the collapse will save future civilizations from that same frickup. Its one thing for that historical trend to be buried in ancient scattered accounts that need to be pieced together to form a vague notion of what was happening vs a 4k documentary that can plainly outline and cite supporting statistics.

time will be what saves them. WWII was a huge drag on the collective psyche of the west...fascism wasn't just a buzzword, it was a real thing and people were justifiably worried about never experiencing it again. but narcissists and power grabbers used that fear to gain their own chokehold on power and it worked for decades. however it won't work forever. anyone who had any link to WWII is dying off, even their kids are dying off and most young ppl don't give a frick about it. it's lost its power to scare ppl and some actually healthy nationalism is taking root again. just my opinion

I agree that some amount of nationalism is healthy/necessary, and I agree that the post war2/βend of historyβ era is ending but what comes next is uncertain and undoubtedly messy. Honestly, what is to be done with hostile migrants determined to undermine their host nations? There is no getting rid of them and no assimilating them without massive effort and passage of time. What is to be done?
