This is pretty said but couldn't the parents have just moved him to a different school and given him contact lenses? This is a real loss to society because any kid precocious enough to succesfully commit suicide on his first attempt probably would have grown up to do great things, there are 25 year olds trying to kill themselves with a handful of sleeping pills but this kid managed to go the full nine yards

But on social media everyone talks about suicide either as jokes or as a doomerism. At this age kids simply don't understand death so they don't really fear it. I blame teachers aka milennial white women. Their war on bullying and their widespread acceptance of things like gentle parenting and therapy really changed how kids mature. Now they're extremely weak-minded, childlike into their 20s, and their suicide rates are fricking wild. In my school years back in the day, there was more bullying & fighting by an order of magnitude than most zoomers could imagine. We even had several gang-related shootings on school grounds before school shootings were cool. But we still had a big fat zero for suicides because we had all been toughened up at least a little.
I also blame the internet and cell phones. No parent would let their kid invite a bunch of furries, anarchists, journ*lists, or porngraphers over to the house for a sleepover, but it's ok for them to have a device that lets them talk to those same people 24/7?
