My fellow Brits, when are we going to ask the government for ac?

The common answer I hear for why we don't need ac in Britain is that Britain has a mild climate. This isn't true for southern England. My house is in the shade and I'm burning up. This is ridiculous. I grew up in a house with no ac because our house was too big for central cooling to do anything but most british homes are the perfect size for ac. I tried sticking my head in the fridge and an ALARM went off to warn me for having it open for too long. Can someone give me an actual answer that isn't a joke or "because it isn't a first world country?"

You don't really :marseythinkorino2: need AC if it's under  35Β°C. In Britain :marseybongcop: it's rarely that hot. It would :marseymid: just be a wasteful to use AC in central and northern Europe.

I have an AC and live in Belgium. Modern HVAC is quite efficient at warming during the winter if you have proper insulation.70 % of the year it runs on my solar panels/battery.

My floor heating runs mostly on that and automatically switches over to a gas condensation boiler if needed.

I know exactly 0 middle class people without an AC, it's mostly a poor people thing.

I've never :marseyitsover: been in a house :marseyfemboymerchant: or apartment with AC in Germany. And if I had AC I wouldn't turn it own because it's r-slurred. It's like cars having AC, nobody uses that feature.

This neighbour bakes in his oven/car every time he goes on a trip in summer.

I just open the windows. AC air is bad for you and makes you sick.

One in eight German households have an air conditioner. If its a relatively new building over here it will have air conditioning.

Most shops, officers etc all have HVAC systems. The Germs I know without AC all live in old, poorly insulated buildings. (poor)

New buildings are ugly and soulless. My apartment was build :marseyyarn: in 1920.

I own a historical building from the late 1800s, but besides the 4 outer walls everything was taken out. Even if I wanted to I couldn't take those down because its part of a historical city center.

You bet your butt it has AC though...
