Every new account they make is immediately banned. That's what they say at least. I've never experienced it because I stay active in trans porn subs to make sure reddit knows I'm an ally. So I'm not sure if our guys are just r-slurred or there really is some total ban hammer reddit uses and there's no way to evade it.

With fingerprinting they can ban everything from a particular device. There are ways around it but I'm too r-slurred to care. That plus all new accounts get instantly shadow banned. I don't know how the website still functions. Bots I guess.

Your device's MAC address isn't public. It's used within your LAN so that your DHCP (and router) can figure out which device you are and which IP to locally assign you. Your router's MAC is publicly exposed, but only to the next layer of the network, such as your router, a bunch of other customers of the ISP, and then the ISP's routing equipment.

In addition to what overseether said, I feel the need to point out that while you aren't "supposed" to be able to change an MAC address, you can if you have sufficient control over the network adapter. It's usually trivially easy on a PC but not so much on a phone.

No. If your IP is banned and static, then you can only use a VPN to get around it.
It helps to use a browser that clears everything upon closing and blocks trackers n shieet.

And idk how common it is but my current ISP almost never rotates IP addresses anymore. Rebooting the modem doesn't change anything. I'm not paying for a static address either. The address only changes every couple of months.

If you use Reddit on mobile browser they literally have no way to tell if it's you cuz your ip is constantly changing lol
iOS has additional stuff on top of that that can help with preventing tracking but inherently they can't fingerprint you if your ip changes constantly and they can't ip ban a carrier ip or they'll hit legitimate users

The internet is built around advertising, which is built around tracking. Depending on how far they're willing to go, it's conceivable they're using some third-party fingerprinting system which links you to your devices.

Meta somehow broke iOS's fingerprinting protection a year or two ago so it's possible that reddit has also managed to do so as well. I question reddit's competence in this area though.
