Yeah, several companies in Sweden have actually been doing this for a while - I read about it several years ago. Basically they chip willing employees with RFID chips that open security doors for them. That way the employees never lose their badges and the companies never have to worry about security being compromised by a lost badge.

It's a nifty idea. I'd never do it because I'd be paranoid about what else they might put into that chip, but nobody's making this mandatory - it's just a weird cultural tradition that they have. Americans are much easier to track with their phones instead of chips.
