Picard Season 2 was so ridiculously awful. I think I made it through 2 or 3 episodes before I quit watching it. Absolute garbage. And from the clips I saw it apparently only got worse.

The initial alternate reality premise of S2 was kind of cool, and the season wouldn't have been seen as such a dumpster fire if they had just confined the time travel shit to one or two episodes.

But holy shit the entire rest of the season was some of the absolute worst television I've ever watched in my life. It just kept getting worse, episode by episode.

I never saw TNG, but like 16 years ago I was dating a cute girl who was a big Wil Wheaton fan and told me what a huge crush she had on Wesley Crusher. Wheaton was at a local comic convention and my girlfriend went to get his autograph. The line was moving briskly, but I swear once it was her turn he spent what felt like 15 minutes spitting game and when she came back she was euphoric raving about how he was the most amazing person ever for the rest of the day. I hated that dude ever since.

I later learned he was happily married with children and probably wasn't actually flirting with her, but that frickin guy has been on my shitlist ever since.

Years have gone by. I haven't watched "Stand By Me" once since that day. I'm now happily married to a different woman. The subject of Star Trek came up. I told her I always wanted to watch it, but couldn't, because Wil Wheaton once tried to steal my girlfriend. A couple years later she went to a comic-con and got his autograph as my Christmas gift. To David, from your nemesis, Wil Wheaton ... I have it displayed on my office wall alongside other autographed photos of formidable villains... Apollo Creed, Gustavo Fring, Pinky and the Brain, etc

As an RPGer, vague Star Trek fan and table top g*mer, Wil is something of a legend among my friends, he really just seems like a regular dude who in some cases got dealt a great hand in life and in some cases got a shitty hand too, like most people. There's a fair amount of consideration put in to all his work: if something is wrong he's the first to admit it, his interactions with people on reddit are awesome and doesn't seem stuck up his own butt. If there was a celebrity to win the award for most down to earth and reasonable human being, he would certainly be a contender (the prize would be 5 gold and a party).

I'm probably never going to get to buy the guy a (craft) beer but I sure would like to! But as this is reddit I'll give this a go:
