America is not only the only country where "hate speech" is not against the law, but it is also the only country where "insulting" people is not a crime either. In addition, American defamation laws are by far the weakest in the world. In the rest of the world, any negative comment about another person can be prosecuted - either as defamation or as "insult". In Switzerland, a man was arrested for making a Facebook post calling Angela Merkel a Nazi. He was charged with "insulting a foreign leader". In Germany, a man was charged with "insulting a foreign leader" for making a television comedy sketch about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. In France, a woman was arrested (police raided her house in the middle of the night) for commenting "She's a liar" on a video of a politician giving a speech. Another woman in France was arrested for writing a negative restaurant review on Yelp. In Japan, you can be charged with defamation for writing negative movie reviews. In Portugal, a man was charged with defamation for saying that the country's president should "go work". But, in America, people are not only free to openly insult the president, but they are even allowed to send racist abuse directly to the president himself. It goes without saying that there is not a single other country on the planet where this would be permitted.
America is also the only country in the world where the government cannot ban any book, movie, or video game. Every other country has government bodies - like Australia's Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) and Britain's British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) - tasked with censorship of art. And, much like the laws against "hate speech", these censorship laws are supported by more or less everyone outside of America.
Europe also has a wide range of "human rights" laws criminalizing everything from "praising terrorism" to "disparaging the memory of the deceased". Once censorship laws are passed, they always become more and more restrictive over time. Europe will inevitably become like the Soviet Union. Let's just hope that we don't as well.

People outside of America actually make fun of us for protecting civil liberties like this. If you've ever looked at /r/ShitAmericansSay, nearly all of the posts on there are from insufferably smug, smarmy western Europeans (especially Britshits), Canadians, and Australians mocking Americans for supporting civil liberties like freedom of speech. Here's a typical example:
Obviously, if America were enlightened and progressive like le EUtopia, we would legally prohibit people from opening creation museums.
In 2021, Switzerland banned Islamic face coverings, joining numerous other European countries. Previously, Switzerland had banned minarets. European countries will throw you in prison if you criticize Islam, but they have absolutely no problem passing laws that explicitly discriminate against Muslims. It's honestly like the Eurotrash just want their bigotry to be covert and clandestine rather than up-front and unvarnished.
Years ago, polls showed that only about 30% of Americans would support a burqa ban, compared with over 60% in the UK and over 80% in France. That's not because Americans like the burqa or what it stands for (quite the opposite, in fact), but simply because Americans, generally speaking, have a much deeper respect for civil liberties and individual freedoms than our European counterparts do. We may not like something, but we will still defend your right to it. That's a uniquely American mindset, and it's easily my favorite thing about this country. As I've said before, the European mentality of "everything I don't like should be banned and everything I do like should be provided for free as a human right" just doesn't fly in America.

A niggle: we have many kinds of censorship laws in the U.S., ranging from protecting state secrets to banning obscenity. What protects us is not that they're categorically absent, but that our people has such a strong spirit of liberty that our officials are always kept fearful to apply them narrowly, lest they step too far.

State secrets only get protection by people who have obligated themselves to protect them, like with a security clearance. Once the cat's out of the bag, though, I don't think the US government has recourse against a random person republishing a leaked state secret.

Soliciting a leak in conspiracy with the person who has clearance isn't protected. It's generally a crime in the US (and many other places) to coordinate someone else doing a crime. The cat is also not "out of the bag" at the point when the person with access hasn't leaked anything yet.
No one republishing WikiLeaks has faced prosecution.
