I just heard of this but I thot I'd post something no one here cares about since I think the whole thing is ridiculous and so kind of funny
BASICALLY
Blake Lively stars in a movie called It Ends With Us, which came out earlier this month. It's based off a book which became famous on booktok (tiktok booksphere for coomerfoids) which as you may expect is about a foid who enters into an abusive relationship
BACKSTORY
From what I gathered from 5 seconds of research, the author Colleen Hoover is basically Stephanie Meyer for zoomers and her books are the latest iteration of Twilight or 50 Shades where they all feature some r-slurred foid meets bad boy, and despite being a best selling author she gets a lot of hate from people who read anything that's not foidporn. This book, however, is different from her other books bc it's specifically about β¨οΈdomestic violenceβ¨οΈ and so it's totally not smut but instead super serious
WHERE THE DRAMA STARTS
On the press tour for this super serious film, Blake was not being serious enough. In one interview she said to "grab your friends, wear your florals" (the mc is a florist) and people felt this was very tone deaf. She also spent too much time talking about fashion choices and bragging about her Louboutins and promoting her haircare and alcohol products off the back of this INCREDIVLY SERIOUS FILM and the girls and gays were not happy
this is her booze line where she decided to sell her drinks at a themed event
https://instagram.com/reel/C-Ybqj_PBMJ/
As you can see, one of the drinks is named "Ryle You Wait" and omg Ryle is the name of the abusive guy in the movie
The cognitive dissonance is real
Greed has no bounds
Blake Lively herself doesn't even drink making this
there are a million videos such as this mocking her promotion of the movie

the fat alcoholics of /r/fauxmoi sneed about her making jokes during an interview instead of crying or something

What the heck is wrong with her? This is just wilful ignorance and lack of self awareness from a fully grown woman. Is she even aware of the movie she promoting? Does she know what it's about? The cognitive dissonance is off the charts at this point, she reduced the valid question the interviewer asked her to a flippant joke. I genuinely feel bad for her costar and you can clearly see he is uncomfortable but since they've all thrown in their lot with Blake and her annoying husband they are stuck with this mess. I honestly appreciate Justin for being the only person to address and tackle the DV themes on this press tour. Also I never want see or hear about Blake, her husband and her immature group of friends ever again.
Basically every comment is like this. reminder the author of the book writes softcore porn for barely literate foids.
the sub seethes that she's so tone deaf omg

ETC
Then, a worthless pop culture journo sees that its the perfect opportunity for clout chasing and cries that Blake called her fat 8 years ago, and all heck breaks loose

As usual, this led to losers digging up every wrongthink she has ever committed like how she said the word in 2009 etc etc omg this drama just goes on and on
Blake feels her career is over
Anyway, I suck at writing posts like this and didn't know anything about this until last night but thot it would be fun to share

the funny thing is that this is her highest grossing film and currently 11th in box office for this year
despite the drama (and there's way more than I felt like writing) obviously her light hearted promotion worked, they're just mad she treated it like the foidslop it is and not some super serious docufilm where she's holding back tears and shilling charities in every interview

Why is there this stupid cognitive dissonance that comes from women and the smut they read? You don't see coomers saying "I'm only watching this midget gangbang for the plot". If you're gonna goon to it, just acknowledge it. Instead of trying to treat your garbage as "art".

Foid wish-fulfillment involves seeing the characters in a fantasy are reflections of themselves IRL, not in the moid way of living through the characters as if they were in the fantasy setting themselves. Everything in the fantasy needs to be representative of what they believe is the real world, so Blake not treating this fictional story like it actually happened is basically dismissing real events and victims. That's why their critiques of male and female characters in media treat the characters as if they were real people necessitating real life praise or condemnation. Authors are basically seen as directors of morality plays where if certain types of people are depicted doing bad things or having bad things happen to them it means they believe that should or is the case IRL.
You can see this in /r/menwritingwomen where depictions of negative outcomes concerning women (defeat, death, r*pe, doing morally questionable things etc) are seen as "bad writing" because such negative things occurring to women disrupts female readers' immersion since they see such characters as reflections of themselves to varying extents.
