I once asked Sheldon about the robocalling scandal (the federal conservatives cheating in the election of 2011). This was back in 2012 while our kids were skiing at Otway in Jackrabbits. We were on opposite sides of the philosophical spectrum, and him being ex-military I presumed he was a law and order guy, but I was curious as to his views on conservatives cheating. His response to the cheating? "I don't care, we won." He was onboard 100%.When people say that there's no difference between the sides...... here is one difference I'm pretty sure most on the left, center and even some on the right would be horrified about. There is a lesson here and that is that a growing number of Canadians are done with the "progressive agenda" and are blaming it for a lot of the troubles we are having. Whether they are right or not is irrelevant because we live in a democracy and if enough people believe the country should be run a certain way, that's the way it's going to be run.The warning bell was when Donald Trump won the Presidency in the US. It was convenient to blame Russia or racists or whatever but nobody really asked the question of whether or not there was actually something to worry about, and I think it's pretty clear that there is. Whether you like it or not, people don't want to be forced to take medicine, they don't want their daughters in the change rooms and washrooms with biological males and they don't want their tax dollars enriching people in other countries. Well written, but it's unfortunate that the baser instincts of the voters are being appealed to.I think people should use the bathrooms they feel comfortable in. Not "biologically male or female" What's the harm? I'd feel ever more comfortable on a dark street with a transitioning individual than a heterosexual male. That's sad, but those are the ones who have given me issues and caused discomfort. For individuals who do not identify as heterosexual, I think they need acceptance, rather than accusations. I've lost friends to suicide bc they felt like society didn't accept them. Thats one of the leading causes of death for those individuals. Conservative continue to vilify them and make it "us versus them."Sheldon Clare is blatantly racist and taught rhetoric in his classes, both as a history professor and CORE instructor. Roslyn Bird has no experience and never moved up in the ranks of the military. Neither of them should be in these positions of power. (2)
