I think Ghost of Yotei would do okay. Hokkaido was the frontier, so you can kind of twist your way around and reason the lady samurai was an anomaly in a place where nobody cares about being normal.

There have been a bunch of documented examples of women fighting in the frontlines in the history of Japan, including in the Sengoku Era. In fact the Naginata is a typically feminine weapon.
Tomoe Gozen is perhaps the most famous example of a female warrior in Japan although it's not clear whether she really existed. But, I mean, if the tale of the fricking Heike already had women warriors some odd 800 years ago I figure this game can get a pass.
IDK if female ronin ever existed but neither did most of the stuff Ghost of Tsushima did in the period it was set up anyway.

Yeah, we have records of women fighting in Japan, but they are still an exception instead of the rule.
Having a female swordsman is definitely a workable setting, though. Hokkaido frontier as a setting definitely needs more love, and the Japanese-styled Western music in the trailer made me rather hopeful.
I hope the game would turn out well, or else it would be a huge waste of such a great setting.
