I've learned recently that a lot of people across a lot of different industries can see how much people who make 6+ figures actually make. This should be common enough knowledge since it's likely impossible to narrow down who leaked it.

This goes further than tech, though. Outside of boomers, most of the high earners in the US are 1st-3rd gen immigrants.
