:marseyflagromania: New election drama plot twist! :ma!rseyelonmusk: Musk is defending us from big meany EU after they stole our elections :mar!seyflageu:

https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1877948465516257646

Some former EU something old fart casually admitted that EU was behind the cancelled elections :marseyfluffy: And that they plan to do this to other european countries too. Other countries pre-emptively announced that they discovered russian bot networks influencing their political landscape, and whether is true or not doesn't matter, guess what will happen anyway? :marseydisconcerting: ...or maybe he simply meant that european countries have a way to protect themselves from Russia and gave us as an example. Depends on who you ask I guess :marseyshrug:

No one really reacted here since people choose the interpretation that fits with their worldview and most people are already exhausted and done with the whole mess, regardless of who is actually to blame. But new elections will happen in may, still a long way to go, so maybe some giant scandal will eventually happen. Musk is definitely determined to create one :marseyfsjal: Still, this is a warning. Elections are approaching for other countries too and the question on whether EU or Russia or both is influencing them will be a reoccurring theme. And frankly there are some good chances that this is the last nail in the coffin and that EU won't survive this controversy :marseyflageugenocide:

So, if the Grand European Union will collapse because of this please remember that we started the whole shit and that we're partially to blame for the upcoming disaster. Frick yeah! :marseyflagromania:

already mentioned wanting to pull out of EU

The only country that could possibly do that is Germany.

All other member states are reliant on support from the Union.

It's the exact same as southern States in the USA always saying they should secede from the Union, but oddly never do. They'd never be able to exist as entities on their own without the support of others.

Strange how that works when you live in a civilization.

Also you're r-slurred.

I wonder if there is some precedent, something that happened, disuading them from doing so :marseyhmm:

Being dependant on the world's most powerful nation that surrounds at least three sides of your new "country" that you just pissed off by seceding from them

Yea wow you might be on to something!

There's a difference between them staying because they are compelled by force and your original assertion that they are staying because of federal funds. Many of the services liberals like to claim red states are takers of are mandated by federal law. Many red states declined Medicare expansion when allowed for example. Plenty of red state residents would gladly opt to not particpate in these federal programs as a trade for entering some loose confederation again.

What most of these Yankees :marseynewyorker: forget is that it's not 1920. We don't have grandparents that are alive :marseyvaxxtroll: who were soldiers :marseydoingmypart: anymore

we don't have the same rebellious spirit.

we've integrated almost perfectly back into the union :marseysaluteussr: in a way you rarely see after a rebellion/civil war

If you ask most natives still have southern :marseypastor: pride :marseylgbtflag2: sure but that's a very separate issue from wishing to be a separate nation

Even then Yankees :marseynewyorker: act like we're itching to backstab :marseymarcusstonebash: them even though realistically you see more patriotism :marseysalutenovorossiya: for !burgers in rural :marseyfrontiersman: areas (of which the south :marseyelonpaypig: is almost entirely made up of).

It's really cringe when Reddit types try to be patriotic for the Union and Sherman and stuff when these are the same people who blame America for everything and otherwise hate patriotism

I'm the real patriot.

Why yes I think America is irredeemably racist and evil. I don't even believe in the idea of a nation.

Can't leftists just use whatever excuse rightoids say when they don't unconditionally support the nation?

Imagine thinking political parties have their countries' "best interest" in mind and not their own interest in governing :ma!rseyrofl:

No. We are reliant on export and this would frick us up immensely.

If I were to frick with the EU if I were a election winning AfD I would reduce my contributions to it. We are currently leading not only by absolute amounts (we are the largest economy) but also by per capita. But honestly I would do that even if I were not AfD, but any party winning next month.

What? The USA is the largest consumer of our exports in Germany.

Now treat European nations as one nation.

If you need help with understanding why you need to do that, say so.

What is reliant on support? Trade deals? Or actual welfare
