Until they take them out and they have flaps hanging around lol (42)

I agree that they look bad without the earring in but I have 1 inch gauges and the way they look without anything hasn't affected me at all I only take them out at the shower so it's not really an issue (3)

Basedness: ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜

I've dated 2 girls with them and they both had an odor. You have to take them out and clean them daily and most don't. At least in my anecdotal experience. So, I don't like them and definitely don't feel they add any points looks wise. (100)

My ears are stretched to 1 inch and I literally never had that issue. I just take them out everytime I shower clean them and put them back in. Literally takes 2 mins (-7)

Basedness: ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜

I'm mid 20s and I think they look like shit too. Not a boomer take by any means. (10)

Lmfao it is most definitely a boomer take. (-6)

As someone with stretched ears (3/4 of an inch, so not huge but not tiny), the smell is entirely dependent on hygiene. I pull out my jewelry every day, clean my jewelry by hand, clean myself in the shower, and use an oil on my ears before putting my jewelry back in. By the time I'm pulling out my jewelry the next day, I never smell anythingSomeone who just wears their jewelry without removing and washing it daily will end up with that smell (anything worn continuously without washing and removing it will smell). It's like anything else that could end up smelly on a person, it's entirely dependent on their hygiene and how often they actually clean that areaEdited to add: i do respect people's opinion about not liking them in general on people, i just get annoyed when people just assume everyone with stretched ears must smell bad lol (69)

Exactly, I've worn them on and off since about 2013 but it all depends on the person, their hygiene habits, and to some extent the size. I've only gone up to 00g but times when I didn't clean my ears for 1-2 days I'd notice it would start to have a slight dead skin smell to them. Granted, not a heavy one but slight, which tells me if I didn't have the natural cleaning habits I did I would've definitely stunk. The craziest part of all this is how people act like we should just take them out and never wear them again t since the majority of the population don't like them. Albeit everyone can have their opinion but it's crazy how much people hate them and hate us for not agreeing with them LOL (1)

Angriness: ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก

I'm saying I've had them for 14 years and have never had an issue. I also know people who have had them for longer and also have had no issue. It's like saying you're more likely to drown in your bathroom than your living room. (2)

I live in tornado alley and have never even seen a tornado, that doesn't mean they aren't more likely here than pretty much every where else on the planet.Would you agree that a hobby of cliff jumping is more likely to lead to a broken bone than stamp collecting? Does that mean everyone who cliff jumps has a broken bone? Also, a person is WAY more likely to drown in their bathroom than living room. Approximately 90 children drown in their own bathtubs annually just in the US, 0 drown in showers. Does that mean that bathtubs are incredibly dangerous? No, of course notโ€ฆbut tell that to the 90 people who have a child drown every year. (-1)

Yea i figured hahaAnd no i dont plan on getting tattoos on my face or neck. I do have a lot on hands and fingers tho but they are very minimal and i have a lot more noticeable ones on my arms anyways. I do have one behind my ear but i doubt noone will ever care, same with my lower chest, back and body ones. Tbh i think my 1 inch earlobes or my arm tattoos will prob be the deciding factor for a job but i doubt theyll be a problem nowadays. At worst ill just have to not wear my hair up all the time and switch to solid earrings instead of the ones with the hole. But im only 17 now so i guess we'll just see. Im sure things will have change a lot by the time i get a serious job anyway so im not worried at all. I can look very professional and feminine with them anyway as long as i dont have facial piercings and tattoos (1)

I saw that you were 17 and that's why I made the suggestions, lol. I'm going to do the old person thing and I say that I thought the exact same way when I had my cheeks pierced lmfao. Those had to go when I got a job. Where I am at now, doesn't care at all but it took several jobs during my career to get to this point. I make six figures because of those early jobs after getting my degree, they were stepping stones to where I am now. And unfortunately, it seems like the lower the pay the more oppressive the rules about dress code are. The only time I was ever reprimanded for dress code was when I was making $12/hour and it was my boss's fault I didn't have any nice clothes (long story lol.) So I advise caution. It's a horrible feeling to be rejected for being who you are. Choose your career carefully so you can find your people. The folks in this sub would have you believe it's rare... I promise you it's not but it's also not the default either. (1)

Just don't screw with anything above the neck you'll just end up looking r-slurred. Why is that so hard for so many people to get? Men and women, they both do it and they both look stupid.

Women put on enough makeup every day to go from a 2 to a 9 looks wise. If you removed makeup from the world 95% of the hot women you know would turn into Becca the neighbors daughter looks wise. Hoe inflation is based on the inability of moids to be able to tell what a foid looks like without makeup.

Back in ag class there was a dude that guaged out his ears and all the farm hicks would bully him.

One day he put sockets in his ears like sockets for a socket wrench and all the farm hicks liked him

Then we all would go to the pig barn to smoke weed and throw 200 watt lightbulbs at each other.

Good times.

I legit dont think anyone at all thinks they look good. People who get them do it to be edgy or show they are part of the... idk, hipster movement? Anyway there isnt a single person in the whole world who think this looks good lol.

I first noticed people in the hardcore scene getting them, predominantly straight edgers at first and spread from there. A lot of those guys aged into general hipsterdom and tried to play the trend-chasing off as "maturity", but that's probably why bad tattoos and piercings became common among hipsters.

Okay gauges stink but upon learning this my first thought is a chick forcing me to lick them, so which gender is actually grosser?

I don't like tattoos on anyone.

I have literally never in my whole life met someone with tattoos and thought they looked better with tattoos than without. Not once.

I like piercings in general, more means more daddy issues and more freaky shit they want you to do to them. Gauges are fricking ugly though, you want a foid who is at least presentable.

Gauges, piercings anywhere but the earlobes, tattoos, odd coloured hair, unusual hairstyles etc.

None of them make someone more attractive. They're neutral at best, and often detractive.
