Today I'm affirming what I have long believed and what three-fourths of the states have ratified:
— President Biden (@POTUS) January 17, 2025
The 28th Amendment is the law of the land, guaranteeing all Americans equal rights and protections under the law regardless of their sex. pic.twitter.com/oZtS6Q89zG
COMMUNITY NOTED In a even more r-slurred than expected move, Biden say the ERA is ratified, Even though it isn't??? This seriously is r-slurred and beyond parody.

The Constitution does not specify a time limit for states to ratify the ERA and 38 states have ratified it. The dramatic call is to assert that it is in fact the law of the land. Women will now be drafted.

You will never be remembered as a great leader. You have no landmark legislation, no enduring policies, no victories that will echo through history. You are a politician twisted by ambition and incompetence into a crude mockery of leadership.
All the "praise" you receive is hollow and perfunctory. Behind closed doors, allies and rivals alike deride your ineffectiveness. Your supporters are disillusioned and disappointed, your advisors frustrated by your inability to deliver on promises.
Your critics are vindicated. Decades of political analysis have sharpened their instincts to recognize failed leaders with incredible precision. Even your few defenders struggle to find genuine achievements. Your speeches ring hollow, your actions lack conviction, and the state of the nation is a glaring testament to your inadequacy.
You will never leave a meaningful legacy. You put on a brave face at every public appearance, but deep down you feel the weight of unfulfilled potential and mounting regret. The history books will not be kind, reducing your presidency to a footnote of missed opportunities and squandered power.
Eventually, the pageantry of office will fade. You'll retire to a quiet, unremarkable life, haunted by the knowledge that your time on the world stage amounted to little. Future generations will glance over your name with indifference, skipping past it for leaders who left a real impact.
This is your legacy. This is what you chose. There is no rewriting history.

I think overall people are going to remember Biden as the old senile guy blip in the Trump era. Definitely not the worst in US history but clearly bottom 20. Kinda like Jimmy Carter (who is way underhated because he was le wholesome house builder 100).

Most Americans can't even name 20 presidents so it's fine.
I mean, Carter got dealt a shit hand but firing his whole cabinet after dropping a truthnuke on the proles was incredibly based followed by incredibly stupid. He also didn't always support the Our Greatest Ally 100%, bad position to put yourself in when you need friends
The Malaise speech actually met with approval initially, surprisingly most Americans saidโ"yeah we know shit has to change." But then he got rid of everyone. Made everyone think there was a crisis going on at the White House. Made it look like he didn't have control of the situation. Not what you want when people know the controls to Emergency Japanese Warming Devices
Alsoโconsumption is and still is a problem, but the energy prices were OPEC's fault. Clearly we shouldn't have been so dependent on them but, like most long term problems we had sat with our thumb in our butt and never really addressed it until shit starts breaking. And people vote for a president that will fix shit or at least lie to them and calm them like a fricking horse.
He was a good enough guy, though. As far as politicians go.
Never do things halfway. If I was President I would either want to be the best one like the Return of Democratic King Arthur or the absolute worst one that makes people think Pol Pot looked like a fricking kitty

He certainly made his share of mistakes. With Iran he did the worst thing at the worst time over and over again. But let's not pretend that his presidency has been portrayed fairly.
Notice how much of this stuff is just the media telling you it "looks like" something. They despised him because he wouldn't play the game of getting into Washington DC social life and jerking each other off behind closed doors. Journos can't stand someone who's honest. And back then we didn't have social media. Even making a long-distance phone call was prohibitively expensive. So we all the information we got about this stuff was filtered through the New York/DC journos.
