(((I was asked to post commie infighting so this is a test ) does no ethical consumption under capitalism mean you can just do whatever you want and still call yourself a commie? or should you at least try to hold yourself to some standards :marseythinkorino:

@Sphereserf3232 @Sphereserf3235 @Sphereserf3233 @Spheresf3233 asked me to post commie infighting and I remembered that this drama is pretty funny, and I think doesn't require any knowledge of theory or anything

the Twitter account @SxarletRed https://x.com/SxarletRed has been annoying a lot of people lately with her r-slurred views

see: this tweet

basically she is saying that you shouldn't judge people for using doordash or whatever, which sounds fine on the surface, especially when you're talking about the wider population, but it's r-slurred if you call yourself a communist and defend getting your groceries delivered everyday

this has been kind of big topic in general that drives me crazy bc someone (r-slurred) will complain about how their grocery delivery was wrong, someone else will say um idk go to the store yourself?? and then people like SxarletRed here will jump out of the woodwork to defend them and say what about people with disabilities!!! what about the elderly!!!!! stop alienating people!!!!!! even tho it obviously doesnt apply to the fat lazy loser complaining about their doordash driver

Anyway. I guess she's been annoying people with these views for a while and has a hate fan club neow hence these posts

there was some pearl clutching that some commies were celebrating the fires in LA and got darn lmao these are the people calling you joyless

>my movement isn't joyless 🀣🀣

beyond parody :marseyemojirofl:

obviously it's nice to travel and I do it to, but her response here is specifically directed at people suffering from over-tourism asking people not to vacation there. there are a lot of places around the world that are trying to increase tourism that you can go to instead and saying no ethical consumption under capitalism!! :soyjaktantrum: is such a lazy defense

I think it's one thing to be talking to normies and yeah don't yell at them for going to hawaii or whatever but idk mb self professed communists should hold themselves to a higher standard??? and there's some things you can't avoid like it's hard to buy all fair-trade and organic and it's a scam anyway etc but equating that with ordering delivery everyday and things you absolutely can avoid is r-slurred

as you can see nobody is saying don't go on vacation or that you have to be perfect, just that if you're going to spend all day tweeting that you're commie then maybe try not to exploit the poor

in conclusion

Why is being a gig delivery driver being positioned as the most exploited class of worker? I'm sure in the global scheme of things it isn't that bad of a job.

Will there be no ordering delivery under socialism?:marseypearlclutch:

I wrote a response that got erased :marseyraging:

in theory it is fine. the idea is that someone with regular employment wants to make a few extra bucks and maybe some tips after work delivering cold overpriced food to someone with a money burning fetish and bc of the pandemic ordering all kinds of things from a latte to potty paper became normalized

but in reality it's not like that. gig workers are mostly immigrants with little resources replacing what otherwise would be normal employees making a regular wage (many restaurants etc stopped staffing their own drivers) they have to use their own car and gas, don't have the same rights as other workers, can't unionize to fight for better conditions, etc

it's one thing for poor immigrants to pick crops and stuff, you can't control that and you need to eat, but you don't need to spend $100 on delivery from scummy corporations everyday and call yourself a communist

That's fair, but having done gig work when I was poor (never again inshallah) I feel the need to push back on any commie claiming it's like the most exploitative work ever

If it weren't for the ability to make money while setting my own hours, I woulda been really fricked

Like they position it as the first world equivalent of being a garment worker or a subsistence farmer when it just isn't.

Idk maybe it's different now cuz I did it during 2020

Depends where you are too. I can say in any major city pretty much the entirety of delivery drivers are illegal immigrants on mopeds slaving away to send back the money to their families in guatemala or wherever.

It's very transparently abusing an underclass and fed by 30 year old failsons on their parent's dime

maybe some people exaggerate a bit idk, but you admit it's shit work that you only did bc you were desperate, and that's exactly what enables them to get away with exploitative business practices

Yes, and doing said shit work allowed me to pay my rent. If you eliminate the option to drive for Doordash, now I'm just broke and evicted. 100% would prefer being "exploited" in a comfy bed over being "free" under an overpass.

Delivery drivers are easy to notice because they're the ones consoooomers directly see :marseymailwoman: :!soyjakwow:

Other jobs, like Bangladeshi sweatshop workers or brick makers in India or salt farmers in are out of sight so are essentially an abstraction, not proper salt of the earth :marseysaltlicking:

There will be, and they will be exploited harder.

PRC has driven their gig delivery drivers in major cities into overdrive. There are been many stories of driver fricking over client and vice versa.
