Gender is a social construct so the only "truth" of gender is whatever society defines it as. I'll accept that trans women are women in society if I believed a majority of modern men would have zero qualms finding out that a woman they just fricked was secretly trans, but I don't believe that is yet the case

I think there has been a top down enforcement ordering everyone to pretend to act like they are, but most normal people go along with it only begrudgingly and almost no one in America actually considers trans women to be women. they either just do it out of politeness or fear. if there's a vibe shift it could easily all crumble
