Based off what I've read that was 100% bullshit and the feds even dropped that allegation but the judge still pretended like it mattered for sentencing.

My memory of this is very foggy at this point, but wasn't one or both of the hitman and the target of the hitman an undercover glowie and they were basically antagonizing him into ordering the hit? And that whole process of baiting him into ordering a hit was done so they'd have an excuse to spend more resources on catching him

Probably same here. But I think the progression of events went that the feds dropped all of the charges related to the hitman as soon as it became apparent that the hitman and/or target was an undercover fed.

I saw his messages with a "hitman" who was just a scammer. But he was legit trying to whack a guy who was blackmailing him and some other people. The scammer was pretending to be a heck's angel.

Yeah the 2 main feds who led the actual task force or something , Carl Mark Force IV and Shaun Bridges, also stole a like a million of the seized bitcoin or something too which was hid during the trial. They eventually were convicted and and went to prison but despite being ultra corrupt they were already released in 2020/2021.

What you have read is incorrect.
He was separately charged with murder for hire out of MD. The feds do this all the time with unusual cases so they have a backup if the primary case fails. They dropped the 2nd case after he was convicted.
They didn't disclose most of the murder for hire evidence during the drug trafficking case. That is SOP for dual charging.
No idea if he actually did or not but the claims the charges are BS because they had weak evidence during the trafficking trail and that they didn't charge him with it are nonsense. They didn't know if a jury would bite the unusual case so kept that as a backup.
