If people are interested in how the law works here, the basic rule is that the president can declassify nearly anything, and he doesn't need to more than say "it's declassified." This but unironically:

Of course presidents don't do that because there's really good reasons for keeping secrets, like not giving up military advantages, or burning intelligence assets, or getting away with faking the oceans.
