At the time some of them supported the Charlie Hebdo massacre. A lot of them also dismissed it because they thought Charlie Hebdo was a racist publication, mostly because they didn't understand it was satire and didn't get the cultural references.
Not that these people like satire in general, because of their whole 'depiction = endorsement' perspective.
