At the time some of them supported the Charlie Hebdo massacre. A lot of them also dismissed it because they thought Charlie Hebdo was a racist publication, mostly because they didn't understand it was satire and didn't get the cultural references.
Not that these people like satire in general, because of their whole 'depiction = endorsement' perspective.

These are people who believe lunchtime rowdies get a magical word that they're allowed to murder someone if they hear. They see that old lady from yesterday getting tased by coloured girls and wonder if she said something racist to provoke them.
