At first I thought it was a red flag that Curtis Lind was renting to these weirdos and that something is missing. It just seemed too brazen that they'd make an attempt on his life and then finish him off years later. It crossed my mind that Lind might also be involved in drugs or weird s*x. It is of course still quite possible, but...
Ok so 10-15% of people rent out to [god knows who] as tenants. I have to imagine this is a much more common practice in California where housing prices and NIMBYism are through the roof.
I can't fathom having a tenant even if I had an ADU. I think the idea of roommates (who aren't family) or tenants is unnatural past a very young age. But I see it's common enough that we can't draw any conclusions off that.

If you get a good one it's fine. You might run into them in the hallway every once in a while but otherwise you wouldn't even notice they're there. And it's convenient if you're doing a task that requires two people and need a hand.
The problem is, there's not really any way to tell in advance. Some of the worst psychos are quiet and mild-mannered, even meek. Then once they've been there a month and it takes a lot of effort to evict them they start being buttholes. I wouldn't do it unless I knew them or someone could vouch for them.

That particular board "Prospering Grounds" is an incubator for new threads. It solves two problems, it stops any r-slur from making a shit OP and putting it out there for all to see, and people tend to immediately start deleting everything the second they realise everything they do is getting archived, giving someone else a chance to find something the original author might've missed before it's gone forever.
