BACKGROUND
Roosterteeth (known mostly as the creators of Red vs Blue and American weebshit like RWBY) has been in decline for years, following a golden period almost a decade ago. View counts are circling the drain, and their attempts at modernising (such as by making cringeworthy TikToks) have left them looking more like CollegeHumor circa 2010 than a modern, in-touch company.
Having served as an escape from the real world for people who just wanted to watch others play video games, they recently decided to hop on the Orange Man Bad and BLM trains even though no one at the company has a level of political understanding beyond skimming r/politics headlines. As part of this bandwagoning they made cringeworthy podcasts apologising for past content, they purged a lot of old videos, and they started making diversity hires without real merit. Of course this ended up pushing out all but their most diehard burger fans, who weren't allowed to complain lest they be called racist/sexist chuds.
THE DRAMA
One department - Achievement Hunter - is a bunch of people who play video games together. They've undergone several personnel changes and recently hired three new people, none of whom have reversed the rot. One of them (Ky) posted some Tweets:

Yes, Ah has had some representation, but when people typically mention “the golden age” the main cast is 6 white men and 1 Latinx man. Sure there’s a slight variation in age, but even then that does not include race, disability, sexuality, or gender.

It's just smoothbrain marketing: "our demo is 99% straight white 18-25 males, think of how much money we could make if we hire a disabled BIPOC trans!". They treat the venture as if it's a neutral, milquetoast product (think soft drink or something) with mismanaged marketing, as opposed to the heavily targeted, micro-demo media product that it is (think craft beer).
Diversity marketing may work for a product that had, for whatever reason, been incorrectly marketed at a limited market segment and thus could benefit from broader exposure, but we're talking about media that doesn't have marketing - anyone can watch it, everyone has heard about it, no one refrained from watching it because of bad marketing or lack of inclusivity.

I think real journ*lism is necessary. You (or the people) need to know what the fricks with the hand on the lever are up to. From pocketing half of your taxes and putting them on the BMW, creating public contests where the winner is already decided and it is their cousin. Or have some friends that give you bags with a million euros and an apartment in Paris...
But this is not profitable, and unless that guy is doing something really shitty nobody will actually care. I don't know how to solve this, and neither if it can even be solved. Society is always on stilts and when you peek bellow it, you notice that everything is broken and nothing works. But miraculously, the electricity barely fails and your life is mostly comfortable. Comfortable enough for you to waste time here.

I dont think hasan has ever been a 'gaming' streamer. Actual gaming streams are dipping more into politics, yeah, but you can still find the neurodivergent game centric streams like Vinny or Jerma, though I assume the age group of average viewers is higher for those two than XqC or someone who is more twitch mainstream.
