I always remind myself that 1/4 people in western countries have an IQ of 90 and below and suddenly the prevalence of the dumbest r-slur takes you've ever seen makes sense. Add the proliferation of the internet into third world spaces and that number of morons is even higher.
Its still pretty amazing that people don't realize just how much psychotic strength there is in a creature that is composed almost entirely of muscle. As long as there is even so much as an inch of life in that thing, it is going to deathroll as soon as anything starts to touch it, and 180 - 250 pounds of dense muscle will throw even the biggest strongmen off balance. Factor in their sandpaper skin and nobody is going to be able to hold onto that thing, much less when it starts biting back like anything in a life-death scenario would.
You don't even need to know the specific details to know why its a terrible fricking idea to risk your life/limb, all you need is the simple recognition that sharks are dangerous.
