Don't get me wrong, I love you Trace :@tracingwoodgrainslove::@tracingwoodgrainslove::@tracingwoodgrainslove: but let's not get too big for our fursuit just yet, sweaty.

it will be long-term! it's just starting now

as dumb as it sounds, "what if schools were good (and actually paid attention to ability differences)" is ... a bizarrely empty spot in the ecosystem

and I'm gonna fill it, and it's gonna be great

TBQH just do whatever UChicago Charter Schools are doing.

They are taking random lottery-selected kids from some of the shittiest neighborhoods and sending ~100% of them to 4 year colleges, including some of the best universities in the country. Even if what they are doing is "small class sizes and lots of money" they are turning that money into results, whereas plenty of school districts spend huge per-pupil sums and produce abysmal outcomes.

Tracking is good (imho) up to a point, but if you go too far with it you end up with weirdo gifted kids who graduated from their PhD at age 16, never had a friend, and crash and burn at life.
