I love this graph so much because in keeping with The Economist's insistent contrarian shitlibbery they insist that the picture their data paints a nuanced cost-and-benefit analysis despite it very clearly showing that it is not at all complicated.

there is an inherent psychological dimension to people looking different to you vs people who look similar. 'Othering' is baked down to the psychological level, and can't be entirely erased, no matter what libs (blank slatists) tell you. It's probably alleviated somewhat if that person is born and raised in the same country as you, i.e. a BAME who is born in the UK instead of Africa or whatever. But it still exists.

It does not mean hating those who are different, but let me put it this way: difference explains difference.

Boys are more likely to hang out with boys than girls, because they are boys and not girls. How come ethnocultural ghettoes always exist while the govt bleats about 'integration'?

Culture is not 'genetic', but if people who look like you behave in a different way from those who don't, you are more likely to follow the former's culture than the latter.

A lot of the UK Muslim & African young male migrants have a seething hatred of whites that 'developed world' culture hasn't ironed out of them, if the govt has even tried (they're more likely to do the opposite, with media & education systems that blame whitey for everything in history). This often escalates into violent crime against white westerners. Don't see why I should be tolerant of this.

Some of the difference is also explained by divergent family origins and not 'race' in terms of features, though it still counts as 'race' because of lineage. E.g. ads in London that advertise remittance services for migrants to send wealth home to their families. Their target demo clearly doesn't share an allegiance to their new home, because their family line originates elsewhere, and I don't see why they should be considered citizens in the same way as Brits are.

Race-mixing solves some of the issue, but it's not happening at anywhere near the rate required to alleviate social conflict. Because people stick to their own for the most part, despite what ads & porn show you, proving my initial point. Strongly multiethnic societies (e.g. the largest ethnic group is less than 50-60% of the population) are almost always polarised places with widespread stratification. Brazil, Lebanon, Yugoslavia etc. The 'far right' doesn't stop existing in these circumstances, if anything it gets worse.

Some conflict might be alleviated if groups lay down roots and exist in the country for many generations, but there are other examples of 2nd, 3rd generation migrants, esp. Muslims, who radicalise more than their parents and go out looking for trouble.

Do you think it's only racists and fascists who are opposed to immigration? What about people who support legal migration for example from, say, the EU or the US, but still oppose illegal migration and asylum seeking from MENA countries and Africa?
