Somewhere in that thread before the neets came online and swarmed it people were pointing out it would be pretty trivial for the US to disrupt our power supply and that would get lethal pretty quick in the winter.  And the leaf arrogance about how burgers can't take the cold isn't nearly as deserved as we pretend.
