[๐Ÿค“๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜] Home Depot is more valuable than all major EU companies founded over the last 50 years.

Our regulatory "regime" protects us from a couple of billionaires taking over our economy and our politics like has happened in the US. It's a great long term investment. (37)

Hilarious you think Europe isn't controlled by a handful of oligarchs. (-19)

Basedness: ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜

Well, then the question stands: why doesn't the market value their equity as highly? (3)

Because, they're not innovative. You're never gonna see brand new anything out of them. They will use US ideas, manufacture and plan them well, but at the end of the day it all relies on the states. (-6)

That doesn't sound right. Who or what is this source? (10)

A different mod approved the comment, so I'm letting it stand, but it's still a very poor argument. "America only got its economy because it's uniquely morally evil and deserves to lose it" is a very bad take because it's way too easy to find all the other economies ill-gotten gains, and that's if we can even agree on what is the "right" or "wrong" way to build your economy. The slavery stuff is easy, but there's 500 other things we all do that have to be sorted in an moral absolutist framework. Is oil always bad, or is it ok when Americas enemies like Russia and China produce and consume it? Which angel in Heaven is weighing out the most moral tax policy, the most righteous worker protections, the balancing of profit and loss? Morals can be a part of economics, but nations don't operate on the Ten Commandments, and it's not a video game where rules are hard wired. Nations and corporations aren't human. (1)

The person you replied to was literally referring to the post. The post is about Home Depot's value vs European countries. Now you're saying Home Depot is not innovative. But it's bigger than Europe because Europe is not innovative. Get your shit together before trying to be condescending, it's embarrassing. (1)

We joke about Chinese labor being like slave labor, but at this point Chinese workers may have more rights than us.

/u/Sea_Treacle_3594 I want you to know that you, yes you specifically, are retarded. Clinically so.

Later on in the same comment btw:

Someone has to pay for the US to leave the Paris climate accord

Well, no, we had to pay to stay IN the paris climate accord, that's why we left, bc being forced to pay money to China since it was classified as a "developing nation" is ridiculous.

it's so funny to me bc literally every single job that involves any kind of skill has both these things

if your job doesn't provide sick/vacation time that means you're functionally useless, they'd probably pay you less if they were legally allowed to

I wouldn't even say my one wagie job was super skilled and I got vacation and healthcare whenever I went full time.

During part time I still got "vacation" but it would accrue for 8hrs and then cash out as an extra day. Sick time was always generous after six months or so.

Imagine believing that fricking PRC has all of those to their workers, while the Mainlanders joke about 996 (9AM to 9PM, 6 days work week), and getting laid off at 35.

God I hate communists so much.

China is obviously better than the US in terms of daily quality of life. It makes sense when you account for the fact that the US has a love boner for maintaining the lifestyle standards of a middle income nation irrespective of how rich it gets.

Chinas pretty famous for having a large private hospital system that's usually better than their public ones

Unlike Canada's single-payer system, patients in China still pay a large portion of their medical billsโ€”especially for specialized care or high-quality services.

Many people purchase private insurance or pay for premium services at private hospitals to access better care.

You still have to bribe the doctors if you want any competent medical professional.

My buddy's family had to "donate" 5 grand USD to make sure a real doctor took care of his uncle and not some quack.

also if you see someone get hit by a car and then render aid, your obligated to help them after. A lot of times the driver in such a situation might just reverse and back over the person they hit to kill them bc thats cheaper than paying for their medical care and support if they live. China is a joke country with radioactibely toxic rivers
